Hey friends! I’m Lindsey and I’m really glad you’re here!

As a little girl, I have vivid memories of teaching my dolls and stuffed animals the one and only Bible verse I knew, John 3:16. I would line them up against my closet, and stand in front of them and just kept saying John 3:16 in different ways. I would point and talk very matter-of-factly to them. Then when I was 9, my neighborhood best friend invited me to her church’s Vacation Bible School. I loved every minute of it, and to this day, I can remember the theme of the week, the Scriptures we read, and the songs we sung. I came home and organized my own VBS and invited all the kids in my neighborhood. I planned on teaching the exact same thing that I was taught at VBS that year, and even made copies of the same pamphlet I received at VBS for them. Sadly, only the dolls and stuffed animals attended. But I had a blast doing my thing with just those dolls and stuffed animals in the audience. Because, after all, now they knew more than John 3:16.

I share these stories with you because I see these glimpses of who God created me to be in these scenes from my childhood. That same Lindsey that just had to teach the only verse she knew is still inside of me today. When God teaches me something, my joy is not complete until it’s shared with others, even if it’s just the one and only verse I know, or reteaching the same material that was taught to me.

I’m here writing to you today in prayerful hope that you guys might want to take the place of those dolls and stuffed animals. I write here not because I’m an incredible writer, or because I have a degree in theology, but because I know a couple more verses than John 3:16 now and my heart my physically burst if I don’t share them. I don’t write unless it’s something that I believe really might serve you or spark hope in your life, so I appreciate every one of you that takes the time to read along here.

Other than that, I live in Austin, Texas with my husband and our three sons. They’re 6, 4, and 1 and are the absolute wildest, exhausting, most fun part of this season of my life. We go to an amazing church that I can’t stop thanking God for, Hope in the City. I have a blast teaching Sunday School and co-leading amazing community group there. I’m a first year student at the Austin School of Supernatural Ministry that I’ve been attending with a good friend of mine. I’m originally from Wisconsin and I’ve also lived in Boston and Sacramento. We are staying put in Austin though!

My blood pressure will start rising and my voice will start shaking (is a good way) if we get into a conversation about walking victoriously in Jesus, the Holy Spirit, living on mission, God’s Word, what Jesus paid for on the cross or coffee. Other interests of mine that I love but don’t write about include minimalism, goal setting, plant based diets, cabin living (A frames, specifically), home decorating.
